NORFOLK LEAGUE CUP FINAL:
White Riot v toon rejects,
Wednesday 20th May 2009, Kick off: 19:00 CET,
at the Xpert Arena.
------------------------------------------------------------

On Wednesday night at the Norfolk Arena, a new name will be added to the Roll of Honour for the Norfolk League Cup as two sides look to put past final defeats behind them to secure signficant moments in their respective clubs history.

For White Riot, giants of the Norfolk League with 6 majour honours behind them, this is their chance to win the one competition that has so far eluded them. Twice they have reached the final, in seasons 4 and 7, but twice they have been denied in close matches. This season they have performed well in the competition and remained unbeated. Their highlights include defeating current holders Shawfield Reborn in a tight semi-final and a crushing 8-2 aggregate win over Rubber Dubbers in the Quarters.

For toon rejects, a first major trophy is up for grabs. They came so close in Season 6, leading the final 2-0 against the Samba Boyz with just 10 minutes remaining, before a thrilling comeback saw them defeated in extra time. Their history in this competition has been very good - they have reached the final twice, and been defeated semi-finalists once in their 6 seasons of trying. Although this season they have suffered the heartbrake of relegation from the Norfolk League, they have had a memorable cup win, including a stunning 4-1 aggregate win over 3 times winners Dutch Warriors, revenge over the Ash Samba Boyz and even victory over Murray's brothers side, chertseychoppers in the opening round. They have also come from 2 goals down in 3 of theif 4 ties to progress this season.

PREDICTION--------------------------------------------------
Both sides will be desperate to make history but both will cruely be without key players due to suspensions. The Riot have had the better in the two sides previous meetings will surely begin as the favourites. The rejects though enjoy being the under dog and have recorded a number of impressive wins over the most successful sides. They will probably need to score first if they are to upset the odds though!
