PREVIEWS

-------------------------------------------------------------
DIVISION ONE: Norfolk And Chance v Smallville FC,
Saturday 2nd May 2009, Kick off: 19:00 CET,
at Thetford Forest, Bedfordshire.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Thetford Forest is this weeks port of call for the Big Game Preview as we focus on a very competitive relegation battle in Division One. With 4 games to go, chertseychoppers appear condemned to an immediate return to Division Two, but just 4 points separate 5 teams in the battle to avoid joining them. Both Norfolk And Chance and Smallville lie just a point clear of the Edinburgh Wolves who occupy 7th currently and both know that a bad run of form could see their Division One status ended.

THIS SEASON------------------------------------------------
Despite their inconsistent form, There is a pattern emerging to Norfolk And Chance's league results. After an opening day defeat at home to Highland their league results have gone like this:
Won, Lost, Drawn, Won, Lost, Drawn, Won, Lost, Drawn.
Smallville beware!
Despite winning just one away game this season, 50% of Armoth's Amy's points have come away whilst they have managed to secure key home wins over Dutch Warriors and Edinburgh Wolves. A strong double header against the Wolves raised hopes they could pull away from the relegation struggle but 2 games without a win has seen them slip back into relegation contention. Norfolk And Chance did also manage to exit the Norfolk League cup in round 2 without losing a game!

After a disappointing debut season in the Norfolk League, Smallville were always going to find it difficult to bounce straight back, although they would have hoped to be secure in mid table by now at the very least. Most of their points have come at home with only Dutch Warriors defeating them at the Star Lane Stadium so far. They too have picked up isolated victories throughout the season to preventing them from dropping into the bottom 2 but not enough to keep up with the top 2. Defence has been their achillies heel though with Daniel Taylor's side having conceded 17 goals in their 10 games - the 2nd worst defence in the division.

TEAM NEWS----------------------------------------------------
Armoth's star keeper Ernst Scherz is out through injury which is a major injury blow to the home side. They are also without Striker Rufus McCammon who is suspended but they still have Rod Sheringham who has the best strike rate in Norfolk League history with 31 goals from his 53 games for the club.

Smallville are at full strength for this one.

PREDICTION----------------------------------------------------
Neither side seem to be in particularly good form recently which is a major worry for both sides as the end of season approaches. Although home advantage will be a boost for Norfolk And Chance, the injury to their keeper gives me a feeling Smallville will get a result from this game. Goals should be guaranteed though.

PREDICTION: 2-2 draw.
