Season Preview: Division One

Club: CAR FAX UTD

Manager: Ricky
League Titles: 0
Cup Wins: 1

Last Season
-----------
League: Runners-up (Division Two), Best: 5th NL,(Season 1)
League Cup: R1 ,Best: Winners (Season 5)
Trophy: R2 ,Best: R2 (Seasons 5 & 7)

Players in: Todd Lightbody (Youth)
Players Out: Nick Caskey, Alistair Cowan (both sacked)

Pre-season results:
0-2 v Wilson F.C (A)
0-3 v Ross County Reserves (A)
0-3 v Smallville FC (A)

Comment: Last season, new manager Ricky produced one of the greatest turnarounds ever seen. He took his side from bottom with 0 pts from 4 games, to 2nd place with 10 wins in a row. Can they repeat that form in Division 1? They have one of the best players the league has ever seen in Gustavo Vicente. Pre-season form hasn't been good but if they can re-capture last seasons form they could cause a surprise.
Title Odds: 5-1

=================
Club: DINOT RIDERS
Ground: Riders Dome, Denmark
Manager: Dinot
League Titles: 0
Cup Wins: 0

Last Season
-----------
League: 4th ,Best: 8th NL (Season 6)
League Cup: R1 ,Best: SF (Season 6)
Trophy: R2 ,Best: SF (Season 6)

Players in: none
Players Out: Loke Brogaard (retired)

Pre-season results:
1-1 v Ash Samba Boyz (H)

Comment: The Riders squad has everything. A top-class keeper, a strong back bone and two of the most potent goalscorers the Norfolk league has ever seen. Last season they started slowly, possibly suffering from the hangover of relegation, but this time, if they get a good start they will be hard to catch.
Title Odds: 5-2 (favourites)

=================
Club: HIGHLAND SELECT
Ground: Pub Car Park, Scotland
Manager: Zico55
League Titles: 0
Cup Wins: 1

Last Season
-----------
League: 6th ,Best: 3rd NL (Season 3)
League Cup: R1 ,Best: Winners (Season 4)
Trophy: R2 ,Best: QF (Season 2)

Players in: Derick Groves (1,190,500), Raulo Baiocchi (2,989,600), Mathéus Helder (1,403,000), Kingsley Ashford (999,300), Luke Milburn (1,100,000), Arseni Illiaronov (2,078,600).
Players Out: Brennan Carey, Nestor Rambert, Bruno Le Moigne, Alberto Abondancieri, Juan Rotchen and Guilherme Nóvoa (all sacked).

Pre-season results:
3-1 v Smallville FC (A)

Comment: A new manager, a new team name and lots of transfer activity has meant that a lot of uncertainty lies around their new ground. The new focus appears to be on youth and therefore this season will probably be one of player development and of transition. Will Zico be able to regain the sides former glory?
Title Odds: 10-1

=================
Club: HOOLE FC
Ground: Hoole park, Southampton
Manager: Chris Nunn
League Titles: 0
Cup Wins: 0

Last Season
-----------
League: 7th (Norfolk League) ,Best: 6th NL (Season 6)
League Cup: R2 ,Best: QF (Season 3)
Trophy: R1 ,Best: SF (Season 6)

Players in: Wilbur Keating (Youth)
Players Out: Cecil Connely (3,000,060)

Pre-season results:
0-2 v Wilson FC (A)

Comment: Hoole are another side still adapting to life under a new manager. Chris only took over for the last couple of games of the season when Hoole were already doomed to relegation so only now he has the opportunity to stamp his mark on the team. The creativity of Anthony Betts is likely to be the key to any success. The goals of Ferdinand Trent should make them competitive.
Title Odds: 15-2

==================
Club: NORFOLK AND CHANCE
Ground: Thetford Forest, Bedfordshire
Manager: Armoth
League Titles: 0
Cup Wins: 0

Last Season
-----------
League: 3rd ,Best: 3rd Div 1 (Season 7)
League Cup: QF ,Best: QF (Season 7)
Trophy: SF ,Best: SF (Season 7)

Players in: Irving Albright (Youth)
Players Out: Cecil Hurlock (Sacked)

Pre-season results:
1-3 v HM Gunners (A)

Comment: Last seasons performance was the best so far for Armoths' men. They produced a strong promotion push in their first season in Division One and two best performances in cup competitions shows the progress they are making. They have an extremely good keeper in Ernst Scherz and the goals of Lloyd Lampard will be important if they are to build on last seasons performance.
Title Odds: 11-2

=================
Club: ROSS COUNTY RESERVES
Ground: My Back Garden, Scotland
Manager: MacLeod
League Titles: 0
Cup Wins: 0

Last Season
-----------
League: Winners (Division Two) ,Best: Winners, Div Two (Season 7)
League Cup: R2 ,Best: R2 (Seasons 3,5,6 & 7)
Trophy: R1 ,Best: QF (Season 6)

Players in: Jan Clarkson (1,800,000)
Players Out: Kearney Millen (2,915,052)

Pre-season results:
0-2 v Ash Samba Boyz (A)
3-0 v Car Fax Utd (H)
2-1 v Wilson FC (A)

Comment: Having had more managers than Newcastle in recent seasons, Ross County appear to have finally got it right. MacLeod appears to be the man to unlock the full potential of a strong squad with inspirational midfielders Jeremiah James and Humphrey Cornforth. Last season their form did dip after an exhilarating start but that may be down to the fact they had such a big lead. More than likely to fight for a top half finish.
Title Odds: 6-1

=================
Club: SHAWFIELD REBORN
Ground: Shawfield Park, Sweden
Manager: Adhogan
League Titles: 0
Cup Wins: 0

Last Season
-----------
League: 8th (Norfolk League) ,Best: 3rd, NL (Season 2)
League Cup: R1 ,Best: QF (Season 1)
Trophy: R2 ,Best: QF (Season 5)

Players in: Chris McDrain (5,300,000)
Players Out: Gary Atkin (362,460)

Pre-season results:
3-2 v toon rejects (A)
1-1 v Wilson FC (H)
5-0 v No Surrender Gers (H)

Comment: Shawfield's new name kind of sums up the attitude at Shawfield Park. Adhogan nearly crafted promotion from a new team last term, this time he faces the new challenge of re-juvinised a team that struggled throughout last season. They have consistently flickered between the bottom half of the Norfolk League and top half of Division One in the past. A top 4 finish is a realistic possibility.
Title Odds: 11-2

=================
Club: WILSON FC
Ground: BroadLane, Coventry
Manager: Natalie Wilson
League Titles: 0
Cup Wins: 0

Last Season
-----------
League: 5th ,Best: 5th, Divison One (Seasons 6 & 7)
League Cup: QF ,Best: SF (Season 6)
Trophy: R2 ,Best: Runners-Up (Sesaon 6)

Players in: Benyamin Soewandi (4,221,500), Leopold Beresford (youth)
Players Out: Percival Soley (7,000,056), Kelsey Northfield, Danko Maruna (both Sacked)

Pre-season results:
0-2 v Smallville FC (A)
2-0 v Car Fax Utd (H)
1-1 v Shawfield Reborn (A)
2-0 v Hoole FC (H)
1-2 v Ross County Reserves (H)

Comment: A late run of good form saved Wilson from relegation last term. In the past they have been a great cup team whilst punching above their weight in the league. With a lot of strong sides in the division this season they will have to show the same spirit and fight to keep out of trouble. Keep an eye out for talented 19-year-old midfielder Tyler Weatherstone though, he could inspire Wilson to a top half finish.
Title Odds: 7-1
