PREVIEWS

DIVISION THREE: Paxton Town v The Barbican
Saturday 29th May 2010, Kick off: 19:00 CET,
at Mersehill Park, Scotland.

For this weekends Big Game Preview we take our first ever trip up to Mersehill Park in the Scottish Borders as new boys Paxton Town take on The Barbican in a clash at the top of Division Three. With so many of the managers in the division yet to complete a full season with their side and with 4 new teams thrown in to the mix, the division promises to produce an exciting and difficult to predict season.

THIS SEASON

Paxton Town, managed by Tyncastle_warrior are making their debut this season and their league campaign couldn't have started better. They have defeated the more experienced Man Spuds and Aldershot 1992 whilst scoring a combined total of 7 goals in the process to put them top of the fledling league table. Their Trophy campaign ended in the first round 3-1 to the more experienced Spatula United.

The Barbican were founded by current manager Iamlegend0710. They are embarking on their third season with a 3rd placed finish in season 11 their best performance so far. They possess one of the strongest sides in the division and the most experienced manager. Like Paxton, they have began with 2 league wins and 7 goals after victories over Mickey United and Seattle Sounders FC, results that have them 2nd in the league. Hotshots ended their challenge in the Trophy at the first hurdle.

PREDICTION

Both sides have performed well so far in the league this season. Paxton Town's performances have been particulary impressive given the more experienced sides they have beaten so they will not be overawed by the prospect of taking on The Barbican. If Alexander McCab isn't fit it will be a major blow to their chances of winning but they did win their last game without him. The loss of Rupert Cherry is a blow to the Barbcian but they have plenty of adequete and experienced replacements in the defence so it should hit them too much.

With these two being the top scorers this season hopefully we will be in for a close but entertaining game.

PREDICTION: 1-1 draw
