NORFOLK LEAGUE CUP FINAL:
Ash Samba Boyz v Dutch Warriors,
Wednesday 21st April 2010, kick off: 19:00 CET,
at the Xpert Arena

On Wednesday night the two most successfull sides in the history of the Norfolk League Cup go head-to-head in a bid to win their first trophy of the season. Ash Samba Boyz have triumphed in this competiton twice, in seasons 6 and 10 whilst Braindead's Dutch Warriors are the only side to have won the competition three times - winning in seasons 2, 3 and 7.

Ash Samba Boyz have had a strange season. Their run of three consecutive league titles has come to an end after losing their opening 4 away league games. A late rally has put them in pole position to claim second place though. Their form has been excellent in the cups though. They reached the final of the Norfolk Trophy before being edged out in extra time by Hotshots whilst they have won 7 of their 8 league cup games this season. Their recent history in the cups is impressive. They have won the league cup twice and been beaten finalists once, whilst they have reached the last 3 finals of the Trophy, winning one and losing the other 2.

Dutch Warriors are also ending the season in good form and secured their top flight status on Saturday. They lie 5th in the Norfolk League, just 2 points adrift of the 2nd placed Samba Boyz. They too had a good run in the Norfolk Trophy reaching the semi finals before being endged out on penalties to Hotshots. In the league cup, they have defeated opposition from all four divisions en route to the final. The Warriors were victorious in their first two league cup campaigns, but this is their first final appearance since Season 8 when they were defeated by Shawfield Reborn. They have also reached the final of the Trophy twice, defeating Shawfield in season 8 and losing to City of Uhra in season 7.

PREDICTION

On paper this game has all the makings of a classic. We have the two most successful sides in the competitons history. We have two sides on good unbeaten runs. The previous meetings between the two sides are well balanced and we have two of the best free kick takers around in the shape of Remco Goossen and Antonio Quintino. We also have two of the most successfull managers of the Norfolk League era. The last time these two met they couldn't be separated and that could be the case again. Expect a tight game with perhaps a  late goal proving decisive but both sides will enter this one feeling they have a real chance to finish off the season with some silverware.
