DIVISION TWO: Blackhawk Rangers v Boca Seniors

Season 12 comes to an end this Saturday, but as the sun sets on another league campaign, there are still important relegation and promotion issues to be decided across the divisions. Perhaps the most intruiging is the Division Two promotion race. The battle has been intense all season. Stans Rangers secured top spot last weekend, whilst Toft Monks Athletic's dreams were ended for this season..However, three teams remain fighting it out for the one remaining promotion spot. Blackhawk Rangers begin the day in the box seat, two points clear of Boca Seniors and chertseychoppers, but both the latter are waiting to pounce should the Blackhawks slip up.

This season, Blackhawk Rangers have again proved they are one of the strongest sides at this level. The big question is, can they defeat their demonds and earn their first ever promotion? In their previous two seasons they have entered the final day in pole position for promotion, before suffering heavy defeats on the final day and losing out to first AFC Trotters, then Dangler Dans. Regardless of the result though, this has been a strong season for Martyn Kuz's side. They reached the league cup semi final for the first time. In the league, after a slow start they recorded 6 consecutive wins to move themselves into the promotion zone. Since then, they have stuttered and gained just 4 points from their last 5 games - what I great time this would be to return to the winning habbit.

Boca Seniors have also enjoyed a strong season. The club have an eventful history featuring 3 promotions and 3 relegations, but their future looked uncertain when Chris Nunn left having seen the club relegated to Division Three, completing their drop from the top flight in just 3 seasons. However, manager ArnieD arrived, after moving from Tartan Army and has steared the Seniors' back towards a more promising future. They are now potentially just a win away from gaining consecutive promotions in his first two seasons in charge. However, to achieve their dream they will need to record back-to-back wins in the league for the first time this season.
