PREVIEWS

DIVISION TWO: chertseychoppers v Stans Rangers
Saturday 10th April 2010, Kick off: 19:00 CET,
at abby field, Surrey.

As the season approaches its climax, it's all to play for in Division Two with 5 teams still chasing promotion. For the second week running the league's top two are paired against each other. Chertseychoppers won last weekends top of the table clash to overtake Blackhawk Rangers. Now it's the turn of Stans Rangers to try and derail the choppers promotion charge and move top of the table themselves.

THE SEASON SO FAR

After winning 4 of their opening 6 league matches, chertseychoppers were the early pace setters in the Division. A mini-slump of 4 games without a win followed and their lead disappeared. However, last weekends victory over the Blackhawks to return to the top of the table. They haven't spent a weekend outside the promotion places this season and are currently top by goal difference from Stans Rangers and 1 point clear of 3rd placed Blackhawk Rangers.

Stans Rangers early season was blighted by inconsistancy. They won 3 and lost 3 of their first 6 games before previous manager Stanway1982 departed leaving the club in 4th place. In to replace him came rps78, who after failing to win his first 2 games in charge has now guided Rangers to 3 straight league victories, promoting them to 2nd in the table for the first time since the opening day. They are arguably the form side in the division at the moment.

PREDICTION

Expect a close game here that could easily go either way. On show are the two leading scorers in the division, but it's also the Norfolk League's best home defensive record against the 2nd best away defensive record. The choppers have built their promotion campaign on the back of a very strong home record, whilst Stans Rangers recent away form has also been good. Rangers have the stronger side on paper, but the choppers enjoy upstaging stronger opposition and have already done so on numerous occasions this season.

PREDICTION: 1-1 draw
