This weekend our attention is focused on a local derby between the two main contenders for promotion in Division One. Smallville currently lie 3 points clear of their rivals. The rejects lie a point clear of 3rd place Highland Select.
THIS SEASON------------------------------------------------
Following relegation from the top flight last season, the rejects have responded well to their return to this level. They began with 10 points from their opening 4 games. Defeat to Smallville followed but since then they have won 3 and drawn 1 of their last 4 league games. They did miss out on one of their traditional cup runs though, exiting both competitions at the 2nd round stage.
Smallville are arguably enjoying their best season in their then season history. Their league form has been excellent with 7 wins from 9 games and their unbeaten league run stretches back to April. Their cup form has been great too. They reached the final of the Norfolk Trophy and are on course for a place in the semi final of the league cup. Overall, they have only lost 1 of their last 25 matches.
