SEASON
3
****************Third
Season****************** 7 new sides entered the league for
the first time, meaning membership reached 23. A third division was
introduced containing 7 teams, with the rest of the league structure
remaining the same. The norfolk Trophy was cancelled due to a lack of
time.
----------------------Norfolk
league-------------------------- For the second season running
the title race envolved 3 sides on the final day. Previous winners Ash
Samba Boyz battled with the two newly promoted sides - Dutch Warriors and
Norfolk Enchants. In the final 3 matches all three sides met each other,
with a win a piece. The season climaxed with 1st place Samba Boyz away to
3rd place Norfolk, whilst Dutch Warriors faced ex-champs New Field Rangers
away. The Samba Boyz emerged on top, with Dutch Warriors 2nd, and Norfolk
slipping to 4th. At the bottom Car Fax's 3-season stint in the Norfolk
league is over - amassing just 3 points, and experiencing a winless streak
extending to 22 matches in all competitions. The suprise was Shawfield
Park Rangers, denied last seasons title on goal difference, they stuggled
to score goals and slipped back into Division
1.
----------------------Division
One---------------------------- A league split by inactive
teams saw Hotshots reign supreme with a remarkable 13 wins from 14
matches. Rubber Dubbers edged out Dinot Riders for the 2nd promotion slot
on the final day. Millars Magics went out of existance by breaking every
unwanted record going, whilst Tottenham faired little better. Al-Ahly
bowed out with a 6th place
finish
----------------------Division
Two---------------------------- Of the new teams, it was HM
Gunners who adapted quickest to the competition. 7 wins from their first 8
matches set them on their way to the title, and will be joined by MIGHTY
DUCKS in Division 1 next season - Despite them only winning 1 of their
openening 4 matches, they finished with an impressive 6 wins in a row. At
the bottom, Barca Boys barely proved to be credable oponents, gaining just
1 point and disappearing into
obscurity
----------------------Norfolk League
Cup-------------------- For the 2nd season running Dutch
Warriors fought off fierce competition to claim the title. They won all 8
matchs, conceeding just 1 goal - putting out the top 2 sides from Division
1, ex-champions New Field Rangers and new commers Dros Delnoch. The game
of the tournament saw HM Gunners recover a 3-0 defecit in their 2nd round,
2nd leg tie with Ash Samba Boyz to win 4-3 - whilst New Field Rangers and
Norfolk's quater-final went to a thrilling penalty shootout.
