SEASON 10
****************Tenth
Season********************* Season 10 was ultimately dominated by one side as the Ash Samba Boyz entered the record books by being the first side to win all three major tropies in one season. The start of the season was overshadowed by legendary manager Andrew Saunders deciding to leave his post as White Riot boss (now known as City of Uhra) after winning 7 major trophies with the side. His job was taken by Nicholas Millar who moved from Gohtza City (now known as Fulham FC). Mike Munns took over as Gohtza boss.
There was plenty of manager movement during the season. Fulham entered the competiton but there manager Fenerbahce13 departed after just 7 games leaving Rodney11 in charge. Spatula United under BMillion and Tartan Army under ArnieD also entered in Division Three. In other managerial movement, Chris Kehoe and Chris Nunn also left mid season with Kehoe's job at Rubber Dubbers (now known as Stans Rangers) going to Stanway1982. Drakey joined to take charge of Stanway's old side now known as Drakies Dazzerlers.
----------------------Norfolk
league-------------------------- The Norfolk League title was comfortably won by Ash Samba Boyz who led the division all season, clinching the title with two games to spare after defeating closest challengers Shawfield Reborn. Shawfield themselves had an exceptional season finishing second despite having one of the weakest squads in the division.
At the bottom, Dddrifter's N.Y.Muggers struggled and were relegated with just 4 points, however the final relegation spot was only decided on the final day of the season. A late run of good form lept Ross County out of trouble and left a final day play off between Dros Delnoch and HM Gunners. Despite having to win away from home, the Gunners achieved it keeping them up and sending Dros Delnoch down in Waylander's final game in charge.
----------------------Division
One-------------------------- Smallville FC secured only their 2nd ever stint in the top flight by coasting to the Division One title without losing a game. They hit the front in week 5 and were never caught. The race for 2nd was much more exciting. Highland Select and toon rejects held the position for much of the season but a late run from Hotshots (who were 7 points adrift of Highland with 3 games left!) pulled them into contention on the final day. Highland led the other two by just a point and their home defeat to Smallville opened the door for Hotshots who defeated Wilson F.C. to secure promotion.
In the relegation race, Wilson F.C. were sunk early, finishing with just 2 points. The battle for the remaining place was between Rubber Dubbers and Norfolk And Chance, Armoth's Army prevailing in the end.
----------------------Division
Two-------------------------- After a slow start and despite losing their manager at the mid way point of the season, Drakies Dazzerlers secured the Division Two title by 4 points. The remaining promotion spot was decided on the final day with AFC Trotters and Blackhawk Rangers level on 23 points, with the Trotters carrying a 1 goal advantage on goal difference. The Trotters won 1-0 but the Blackhawks were soundly beaten 5-0 by Drakies Dazzerlers meaning 2nd place went to AFC Trotters.
In the relegation battle, a final run of 3 consecutive defeats sealed Hoole FC's fate with one game remaining. Gohtza City and Edinburgh Wolves entered the final day fighting to avoid joining them in Division Three. However, Gohtza's defeat to AFC Trotters secured safety for the Wolves comfortably in the end.
----------------------Division
Three------------------------ Dangler Dans hits the front in Division Three just past the half way point and their final run of 6 wins from their remaining 7 games comfortably secured the title. Spatula United in their debut season will join them in Division Two next season as they successfully fended off Colmans for the final promotion spot which they secured with a game to spare. Tartan Army were on the fringes of the promotion battle but faded to finish a strong 4th in their debut season.
----------------------Norfolk League
Cup------------------- The Norfolk League cup saw one of the most entertaining finals in its history as Ash Samba Boyz and Hotshots served up an 8 goal feast. Despite going down to 10 men the Norfolk League side finally secured victory 5-3 to win their first league cup since Season 6. During their cup run the Samba Boyz hit 33 goals in 9 games defeating top flight City of Uhra, Ross County and Shawfield along the way.
Among the other highlights saw Division Three side Colmans reach the quarter finals whilst Blackhawk Rangers defeated Dangler Dans 7-6 in one of the ties of the season.
----------------------Norfolk
Trophy-------------------------- The Ash Samba Boyz became only the 3rd side in history to win all 3 major trophies when they clinched their first Trophy victory. The final saw an Ash derby but goals from Didier Makanaki and Isaac Rush proved too much for a Smallville side who'd already defeated two of their other local rivals en route to the final.
Again, Blackhawk Rangers were involvd in one of the ties of the competition, this time drawing 4-4 against Edinburgh Wolves having lost a 3-0 lead. They went on to lose on penalties. toon rejects 4-3 win over Rubber Dubbers was another highlight.
